A Buyer’s Guide to Motorhomes
When you’re trying to sift through the motorhome market, you may find yourself a little overwhelmed at all the options. These rigs can come in a variety of sizes and accommodate a couple of campers or a whole family. So how are you supposed to know which one is right for you? A good place to start is to know how the industry breaks down motorhomes into three separate categories: Class A, Class B, and Class C. We’ve provided some information on what you can expect from each of these different styles of motorhomes.
Class A
Class A motorhomes are generally the largest of the group. They’re characterized by their flat fronts and often come with some of the more luxurious accommodations. The biggest advantage of these campers is their size. Whether you need to have more room for more campers, or if you prefer to just stretch out a little, Class A motorhomes are your perfect answer. And in all that space you’ll get some of the most up-to-date features. You’ll get a full kitchen and a master bedroom, and some even come with additional bathrooms, multiple televisions, and outdoor accommodations.
Class B
On the opposite end of the size spectrum are Class B motorhomes, which resemble large vans. As surprising as it may be to some people, this smaller size actually ends up being a serious advantage. Firstly, it cuts down on initial and long-term spending. These motorhomes are generally cheaper than their larger counterparts and they consume less gas along the way. They’re also easy to drive around and park.
Class C
The in-between models are Class C motorhomes, which are not as big as Class A motorhomes, but not as small as Class B motorhomes. They’re identified by their truck-like cab with an overhanging section of the camper over the front. Class C motorhomes tend to be the nice in-between and a favorite among first-time RV owners. This is primarily because they’re big enough to sleep 4-8 people, but they’re generally easier to drive and cheaper than Class A motorhomes.
