How to Park Your Fifth Wheel
Fifth wheels or 5th wheels are a type of towable recreational vehicle that offers more expansive and well-appointed accommodations. Along with the luxury, however, comes an increase in size that can make it a bit of a challenge to park your fifth wheel. Parking a fifth wheel safely requires a combination of skill, caution, and attention to detail. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth and safe parking experience:
Find a Good Spot
Look for a level and spacious area to park your fifth wheel. Make sure there are no obstacles or hazards in the area that could interfere with your parking.
Approach Slowly
When you have identified a suitable spot, approach it slowly and carefully. Use your mirrors and have a spotter outside to guide you if needed.
Align Your Trailer
As you approach the parking spot, align your 5th wheel with the desired parking space. Make sure to leave enough space on all sides for maneuvering and opening slide-outs if necessary.
Chock Your Wheels
Once you have parked your fifth wheel, use wheel chocks to prevent it from rolling. Place the chocks on both sides of the wheels to secure the trailer in place.
Level Your Fifth Wheel

Once your fifth wheel is parked and leveled, disconnect it from the tow vehicle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for properly unhitching the trailer.
Secure Trailer
Make sure all stabilizing jacks are down and secure to prevent any movement while parked. Double-check that all doors, windows, and compartments are locked before leaving your fifth wheel unattended.
Check Surroundings
Before leaving your fifth wheel, check the surroundings for any potential hazards or obstacles. Make sure you are not blocking any driveways or emergency exits.
